Dr. Troy Hounshell
PT, ScD · Physical Therapist · Practice Owner · Educator
25 years of hands-on clinical practice — from outpatient clinics to skilled nursing facilities across West Texas. Building continuing education that's actually useful in the real world.
A Clinician Who's Done the Work
Dr. Troy Hounshell has spent more than 25 years in physical therapy, working across outpatient clinics, acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and home health settings throughout West Texas. His career has been defined by a simple principle: treat patients the way you'd want your family treated.
He earned his Master's in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2000, then returned to earn his Doctor of Science degree in 2005. In 2024, he was named a Distinguished Alumni by Texas Tech — recognition of both his clinical contributions and his commitment to advancing the profession.
"Continuing education should make you a better clinician on Monday morning. If it doesn't translate to the clinic floor, it's just check-the-box work."
As CEO of Texas Therapy Pros, Troy leads a team of therapists providing PT, OT, and SLP services across 5 skilled nursing facilities in West Texas, along with home health services throughout the region. He and his team share a commitment to clinical excellence that extends into every course on this platform.
Every course on this platform is authored by discipline-specific clinicians who understand the reality of daily practice. No shortcuts, no filler content, no check-the-box courses.
Why West Texas Shapes Everything
Practicing in rural West Texas means fewer specialists, longer drives, and patients who often delay care. You have to be resourceful, thorough, and creative. That reality informs every course on this platform — if a technique or approach holds up in West Texas, it holds up anywhere.
